Species & Seasons
There's a bite worth chasing nearly all year on the American, Feather & Sacramento rivers. Here's what we target and the best time to book for each.
The crown jewel of the Sacramento system. Hard-charging Chinook average 10–25 lbs, with trophies topping 30. The fall run peaks September through November.
Sea-run rainbow trout prized for blistering runs and acrobatic jumps. Chrome-bright and pound-for-pound one of the toughest fighters in the river.
Aggressive, schooling predators that push up the rivers each spring. A blast on light tackle, great on the table, and they bite again in the fall.
The "poor man's tarpon" arrives by the thousands and hits hard. Nonstop action that's perfect for kids and first-time anglers — you'll lose count of the hookups.
Prehistoric giants and the ultimate bucket-list fish. These dinosaurs can top 6 feet and pull like a freight train — the bite is best after winter rains.
Steelhead & Sturgeon
Striped Bass, Sturgeon & Shad
Shad & early Salmon
King Salmon & Striped Bass
